This family ski retreat located in the Madison Range of the Rocky Mountains near Big Sky, Montana sits high alongside a ridge amongst towering craggy peaks. The Gallatin Range provides a backdrop to the East and Northeast while the nearby Pioneer Mountain, Flattop Mountain, and Sphinx Mountain are captured in the views to the Southwest. This home finds a successful balance between size and intimacy through its massing and spatial play between compression and extension. Smaller more insulated areas are complimented by larger more expansive spaces.
